UKPACK Successfully Completes 2025 amfori BSCI Social Audit
Zhejiang UKPACK Packaging Co., Ltd. successfully completed the amfori BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) social audit on September 22, 2025, conducted by ALGI Holding Company LLC. The official report was issued on September 28, 2025. This semi-announced full audit covered 13 key performance areas, including labor rights, workplace conditions, occupational health and safety, and environmental protection.
According to the audit results, UKPACK received an overall rating of C (Acceptable, valid for 1 year), which confirms the company meets the basic requirements of amfori BSCI and remains qualified to partner with global clients in a responsible and compliant way.
Key Strengths
The audit also highlighted several key strengths, such as:
- Top Performance in 7 Areas: UKPACK achieved the highest grade A in freedom of association and collective bargaining, non-discrimination, occupational health and safety, no child labor, environmental protection, and ethical business behavior.
- Transparency and Integrity: All production is conducted in-house (printing, assembly, and packing) without subcontracting, ensuring full traceability and compliance.
- Fair Compensation: Workers are paid above the local minimum wage (CNY 2,260/month). The factory also benchmarked against the living wage (CNY 2,984.51/month) to further improve its compensation system.
Areas for Improvement
The audit also identified several aspects that require enhancements, such as:
- Overtime hours exceeding the legal monthly limit of 36 hours in some months;
- Low participation in social insurance among employees;
- Warehouse safety and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) needing stricter enforcement;
- Limited cleaning supplies in restrooms.
UKPACK has already initiated corrective action plans, including optimizing production capacity planning, gradually expanding social insurance coverage, and improving occupational health and safety management.
