Decoration & Surface Finishing for Cosmetic Packaging
Beauty moves fast – your packaging has to keep up.
At UKPACK, in-house decoration and surface finishing help you quickly adapt aesthetics across bottles, jars and tubes, so your range stands out on shelf and on screen.
- In-house spray coating, metallization, soft-touch and frosted finishes
- Silk screen, hot stamping, heat transfer, labeling and more
- Color matching to Pantone and detailed brand guidelines
- Decoration lines fully integrated with our molding and assembly

Printing & Branding Decoration
Your logo, claims and regulatory text need to be sharp, durable and easy to read on every batch. That’s why our printing and branding lines are equipped with vision inspection systems that check every decorated part for position, clarity and defects in real time. With this in-line control and a full range of printing techniques, we keep bottles, jars, tubes and sticks looking consistent from pilot run to full-scale launch.

Silk Screen Printing
Silk screen printing is the go-to choice for bold, opaque logos and text on cosmetic packaging.
It delivers clean lines and solid colors, even on curved bottles and jars.
- Best for 1–4 spot colors and simple artwork
- Works well on PP, PE, PET, PETG, acrylic and glass packs
- Ideal for brand logos, product names and key claims

Hot Stamping (Foil Stamping)
Hot stamping adds a premium metallic touch to your packaging, with crisp edges and high shine.
It’s often used to highlight the brand mark or key graphic details.
- Gold, silver and custom-colored metallic foils available
- Suitable for borders, icons, logos and small accents
- Combines well with spray coating and soft-touch finishes for a luxury look

UV Printing
UV printing is ideal for sharp, high-resolution branding directly on the pack.
It cures instantly under UV light for a clean, durable finish.
- Crisp logos, fine details and small text
- Suitable for bottles, jars and caps
- Great for fast sampling and repeatable production runs

Pad Printing
Pad printing is used for small areas, uneven shapes and hard-to-reach surfaces where screens cannot print.
It can apply fine details on components that have curves or tight corners.
- Perfect for caps, pumps, droppers and small accessories
- Handles small logos, icons or dosage indicators
- Works on a wide range of materials, including plastics and metal parts

Labels & Shrink Sleeves
When you need more flexible artwork or variable data, labels and shrink sleeves are a strong choice.
They give you full design freedom without changing the primary pack.
- Supports barcodes, regulatory text and multiple language versions
- Suitable for both straight and slightly tapered containers
- Helpful for shorter runs, regional SKUs or test launches
Surface Finishing & Coating Options
Finishing is what turns a standard pack into something people actually want to pick up. With a range of surface coatings, we adjust color, gloss and feel to match your brand – from clean, clinical skincare to bold color cosmetics.

Spray Coating
Spray coating is the most versatile way to color and finish cosmetic bottles, jars and caps.
We can apply coatings on plastic and glass, inside or outside, to create different looks and coverage.
- Solid, matte or high-gloss color on bottles, jars and closures
- Pearl, shimmer and metallic spray effects for added depth
- Inner and outer spray options for double-wall or acrylic-style packs

Soft-Touch & Velvet Coatings
Soft-touch coatings give packaging a “velvet” or rubberized feel that immediately signals premium quality.
They are often used on skincare, body care and wellness products where the in-hand feel supports the brand story.
- Smooth, non-slip feel that is comfortable to hold
- Works well on larger bottles, jars and sticks
- Can be combined with silk screen and hot stamping for contrast

Frosted & Matte Effects
Frosted and matte finishes create a clean, understated look and help reduce fingerprints.
They are ideal for brands that want a minimal, pharmacy or spa-inspired aesthetic.
- Frosted effect on plastic or glass, full or partial coverage
- Satin and low-gloss finishes that soften strong colors
- Popular on serums, toners, cleansers and treatment products

Metallization & Metallic Effects
Metallization delivers a mirror-like, high-shine surface that feels luxurious and eye-catching on shelf.
It can be used on full components or combined with color spray for more subtle effects.
- Full metallized finishes on caps, collars and bottles
- Localized metallic accents on selected areas
- Gold, silver, rose gold and custom metallic tones

Gradient & Special Effects
Gradients and special-effect coatings help packs stand out in crowded categories or limited-edition launches.
We can create smooth transitions and multi-layer finishes while keeping decoration repeatable from batch to batch.
- Top-to-bottom or bottom-to-top gradients in one or more colors
- Two-tone blends, halo effects and subtle sparkles
- Can be layered with printing and hot stamping for more complex designs
Color Matching & Artwork Management
Consistent color and clean artwork are critical when you’re running multiple SKUs, regions and seasons. UKPACK’s color matching and artwork management process is built to keep your packs on-brand from the first sample to repeat orders.

Brand Color Matching
We start from your brand guidelines and Pantone references, then translate them to real packaging materials.
- Color matching on PP, PE, PET, PETG, acrylic and glass
- Support for solid colors, metallics and special-effect coatings
- Color chips and spray panels for review before mass production

Artwork & Prepress Support
Our team checks your artwork for what actually works on bottles, jars, tubes and small components – not just on a flat screen.
- Review of logo size, line thickness and minimum text size
- Adjustment of print areas to match curved and tapered surfaces
- File preparation for silk screen, hot stamping, heat transfer and pad printing

Samples & Approval Before Production
Before we lock anything in, you see and touch real parts.
- Decorated pre-production samples for checking color, layout and readability
- Option to approve both empty and filled-pack appearance if needed
- Clear feedback loop so changes are captured before tools and plates are finalized

Version Control for Multi-SKU Ranges
As your line grows, we help keep all the details under control.
- Separate artwork versions for different shades, regions and languages
- Documented standards that guide future repeat orders and re-runs
- Alignment with your internal packaging or regulatory teams when required
Decoration Quality & Durability Testing
Decoration has to do more than look good on day one. Printed logos, foil and coatings need to survive filling, transport, storage and daily use – without fading, peeling or shifting. At UKPACK, we combine in-line vision inspection with lab testing to keep your decorated packaging consistent from piece to piece and batch to batch.
In-Line Vision Inspection
Our printing and decoration lines are equipped with vision inspection systems that monitor every part in real time.
- Cameras check print position, registration and orientation on each piece
- Defects such as missing print, smudging, double hits or color shifts are flagged immediately
- Good and bad parts are automatically separated to reduce manual sorting
This helps us control quality at the source, instead of only relying on random sampling at the end of the line.
Adhesion, Rub & Scratch Tests
We run mechanical tests to make sure decoration stays on the pack during normal use.
- Adhesion checks for silk screen, hot stamping, labels and coatings
- Dry and wet rub tests to simulate handling, packing and transport
- Scratch resistance checks on metallized and coated components
These tests help prevent issues like logo peeling, foil flaking or labels wearing off too quickly.
Chemical & Environmental Checks
Formula and environment can also affect decoration, especially with active skincare or high-oil products.
- Compatibility checks with typical bases such as oils, alcohols and surfactants
- Accelerated aging tests under heat, light and humidity where required
- Visual checks for discoloration, blistering or loss of gloss over time
When needed, we work with your filling partner or lab to align on test conditions.
Batch Control & Documentation
Quality is only useful if it’s repeatable.
For decorated parts, we keep clear records so future orders can match the approved look and performance.
- Recorded standards for color, gloss level and print position
- Batch inspection records that track decoration quality over time
- Retained samples for key projects to support future reorders and line extensions
More Sustainable Decoration Choices
Decoration is part of your sustainability story too. The way you print, coat and finish a pack can make recycling easier – or harder. At UKPACK, we help brands choose decoration options that balance visual impact with more responsible material choices.

Lower-Impact Inks and Coatings
Where possible, we can work with lower-impact options that still deliver strong on-shelf appeal.
- Options for water-based or low-VOC inks and coatings, depending on the pack and design
- Guidance on when simpler finishes can replace more complex, multi-layer combinations
- Support to evaluate trade-offs between look, feel and environmental impact

Decoration Designed for Recyclability
We look at decoration together with the base material, not as a separate step.
- Suggestions to keep decoration compatible with mono-material packaging where possible
- Advice on avoiding heavy metallic coverage on packs that are meant to be recycled
- Options to use labels, bands or limited print areas instead of full-body coverage when that helps recycling streams

Smarter Use of Effects, Not Just More
Sometimes, less decoration can tell a stronger story.
- Using negative space, clear windows and simple line art instead of heavy ink coverage
- Choosing one strong effect (for example, foil on the logo) instead of multiple competing finishes
- Aligning decoration with your brand’s sustainability messaging, so the pack looks “responsible” as well as premium

Compliance and Market Expectations
Different markets have different expectations and regulations around packaging and sustainability.
- We stay close to these changes and share what we see from other beauty and personal care launches.
- Input on decoration choices when you’re targeting specific regions or retailers
- Support when you update artwork or finishes as part of a wider sustainability refresh
- Coordination with your sustainability or packaging teams as needed
How We Run a Decoration Project
Whether you need decoration only or a full pack plus decoration solution, the process is clear. UKPACK manages each step in-house – from the first brief to packed, decorated components ready for your filler or warehouse.
If you’re still at the concept stage, our 3F Services can help you design the full packaging system first and then translate it into real decoration options.
Step 1 – Project Brief & Pack Selection
Every project starts with a clear brief.
- You share details about your formula, target market, channels and budget range
- We review any existing packs, mood boards or brand guidelines you already have
- Together, we confirm which bottles, jars, tubes or sticks will be decorated and in what volumes
If you haven’t locked in the primary pack yet, we can suggest suitable UKPACK components that fit your target position and decoration plan.
Step 2 – Artwork & Decoration Proposal
Next, we turn your brand into a practical decoration plan.
- You send logos, artwork files and color references (for example Pantone codes)
- Our team checks print areas, line thickness and minimum font sizes for real packaging surfaces
- We recommend specific decoration methods – such as silk screen, hot stamping, spray coating or labels – based on your design and volumes
The goal is to balance design, technical feasibility, cost and lead time before we move to sampling.
Step 3 – Samples & Approval
Before mass production, you see real decorated parts.
- We prepare color chips, spray panels and/or decorated pre-production samples
- You review color, layout, legibility and overall appearance under normal lighting
- Any adjustments to artwork, color or effects are made at this stage
Once you approve the samples, we lock the standards that will guide full production and future repeats.
Step 4 – Mass Production & In-Line Quality Control
After approval, we move to scale – with control built in.
- Decoration runs on our production lines, integrated with molding and assembly where required
- Vision inspection systems monitor print position, registration and key defects in real time
- Operators follow defined QC checkpoints for adhesion, appearance and alignment
This combination of automation and human checks helps keep each batch consistent, even on large orders.
Step 5 – Packing, Protection & Shipping Coordination
Finally, we make sure decorated parts arrive in good condition.
- Components are packed to protect sensitive finishes, such as soft-touch or metallized surfaces
- Carton labeling and packing methods are agreed in advance with your team
- We coordinate shipping with your chosen forwarder or logistics partner
Whether you ship to a single filler or multiple regions, our goal is the same: decorated packaging that arrives ready to fill and go to market.
