Sweeq positions itself as “the beach hack you didn’t know you needed” – a non-toxic sand remover that lets families leave the sand at the beach instead of in the car, stroller or living room.

The formula is simple and reassuring for parents: just 100% cornstarch, free from gluten, parabens, phthalates and dyes.

The brand story is about:

• keeping sandy hands and sticky feet under control
• making beach clean-up quick enough that kids don’t lose patience
• offering a portable, family-friendly alternative to baby powder and improvised “sand hacks”

To match that story, Sweeq needed packaging that feels as clever and convenient as the idea itself.

From a packaging perspective, Sweeq’s brief combined several tough requirements:

• Squeezable powder dosing. The cornstarch powder is very fine, and the brand didn’t want clouds of powder everywhere. Instead of relying on tiny sifter holes alone, they wanted a soft, squeezable bottle so users can gently squeeze out just the right amount of powder.
• Integrated applicator. Parents didn’t want to get more sand on their hands while helping their kids. The pack needed a built-in soft brush, so you can squeeze, apply and sweep in one motion.
• On/off safety. The product would live in beach bags and car trunks. It needed a closure system that stays reliably shut in transit, protecting both the brush and the powder.
• Kid-friendly ergonomics. Children would be using Sweeq themselves, so the bottle had to feel stable in small hands, with a squeeze force that’s easy to control even with sandy or slightly wet fingers.
• Distinctive branding. Sweeq wanted a bold turquoise pack that looks playful and beachy, with enough space for clear usage icons and claims on the back panel.

A standard stock bottle couldn’t hit all these points at once – especially the combination of squeezable HDPE body + brush + sand-removal positioning.

That’s where UKPACK stepped in.

The project began when Sweeq’s team found our dry shampoo powder bottle on the UKPACK website.

This gave them confidence that we understood powder packaging and dosing, but the final product needed a very different user experience.

Instead of simply rebranding that PET bottle, we worked with Sweeq to:

• keep the “powder + applicator” idea
• redesign the structure as a 100 ml HDPE squeezable bottle
• integrate a soft brush and clear overcap into a completely new set of parts
• lock the design in as a private mold, dedicated only to Sweeq

Working from Sweeq’s usage sequence (“squeeze a little powder, brush off the sand”), our engineers focused on how the pack behaves in real hands at the beach.

Key design decisions included:

• HDPE soft wall design. We chose HDPE for the bottle body to create a comfortable, flexible squeeze. Wall thickness and shape were tuned so users feel they’re in control of how much powder comes out.
• Controlled outlet & internal flow path. The internal structure directs powder smoothly towards the brush area when the bottle is squeezed, helping avoid sudden dumps or blockages.
• Soft brush head geometry. The brush was designed to be dense enough to sweep sand effectively, while staying gentle on kids’ skin. The handle and ferrule interface were optimized so the brush stays firmly in place through repeated use.
• Protective clear overcap. A clear cap protects the brush from dust and damage while keeping it visible, which strengthens the product’s shelf and social-media appeal.

Because the Sweeq pack was completely new, UKPACK built a full set of custom, private molds for the HDPE bottle, collar, internal components and brush holder.

These molds are owned by the client and used exclusively for Sweeq.

UKPACK does not offer this structure as an off-the-shelf or white-label item for other brands.

Our team translated the concept into manufacturable 3D files, checking:

• wall thickness and squeeze feel for the HDPE body
• draft angles and parting lines to keep surfaces clean and consistent
• tolerances between bottle, collar, brush holder and overcap
• assembly sequence, so the brush and bottle can be put together efficiently on the production line

We shared DFM feedback and 3D visuals with Sweeq at each milestone, using a detailed project tracking sheet to log every change and approval.

In our in-house tool shop, we machined the molds on CNC lathes and milling machines.

During this stage, Sweeq received:

• progress updates on key dates
• photos and short videos from the tooling floor
• early T0/T1 samples for on-beach testing

Field testing with real cornstarch powder and real sand led to fine-tuning of:

• bottle softness and rebound for better squeeze control
• outlet details to stop powder from clumping
• brush feel and density for faster sand removal

We shared real-time photos and videos from our tooling shop so the Sweeq team could follow their private mold as it moved through CNC machining, polishing, and T-trials.

Once the structure was locked in, we:

• tuned the turquoise color to match Sweeq’s brand palette
• confirmed print areas and text readability on the curved HDPE surface
• ran a pilot production to validate filling, packing and transport

All along, the customer could see exactly where the project stood in the timeline, and what would happen next.

The finished Sweeq pack is a compact, travel-friendly squeezable powder brush bottle that parents and kids understand at a glance:

• Squeeze, brush, done. Users gently squeeze the HDPE bottle to push out a small amount of powder into the brush, then sweep away sand in seconds – no water needed.
• Less mess, more control. The squeeze-based dosing helps avoid uncontrolled powder clouds, making it easier to use in the car park, on a towel or next to a stroller.
• Kid-friendly shape. The cylindrical, slightly soft bottle is comfortable for small hands, making cleanup part of the fun instead of a fight.
• On-brand and protected. The turquoise body, playful graphics and “container made in China” statement underline the brand story, while the private mold ensures the pack design remains unique to Sweeq.

For Sweeq, this project turned a simple formula idea into a patent-pending product with packaging that matches the promise: a smart, family-friendly way to leave the sand at the beach.
