Choose your supplement packaging based on four factors: dosage form, material protection, bottle opening and closure system, and the required fill volume.

Match the Package to Your Supplement Form

Start with what you are filling. Capsules, tablets and softgels typically use packer or supplement bottles, while gummies need wider openings and powders are better suited to wide-mouth jars or canisters.

HDPE vs PET Supplement Bottles

HDPE and PET are the two most common materials for rigid supplement bottles, but they serve different packaging priorities. Choose HDPE when opacity, moisture protection and impact resistance matter most; choose PET when product visibility, gloss and a more premium shelf appearance are important.

HDPE is widely used for tablets, capsules and gummies because it is opaque, impact-resistant and provides good moisture protection. It is a practical choice when the product does not need to be visible through the bottle.

Need PCR Content?

For recycled-content supplement bottles, rPET is currently the more established food-contact route in both the US and EU. Recycled HDPE for direct food-contact use is more restricted, so PCR percentage and compliance documentation should be confirmed for each destination market.

    A supplement bottle must work as a complete packaging system. The neck finish, cap, liner and sealing method need to match the bottle material, filling process and product-protection requirements.

    Neck finish determines which cap will fit and how the closure engages with the bottle. Always confirm the exact neck specification before selecting caps, liners or induction-seal components.
