10ml Lip Balm Tube Packaging for Barriers
Barriers positioned The Lip Balm as more than a basic everyday balm. Its soft, nourishing formula is designed for dry and sensitive lips, making the way the product is dispensed and applied an important part of the overall skincare experience.
For the packaging, UKPACK provided the UKLB001 10ml PE tube with ceramic applicator, selected from our range of lip balm tubes. The compact squeeze format allows the balm to move directly from the tube to the applicator, creating a simple application system without a separate wand or open container.
The finished format brings together a minimalist tube profile, direct lip application, and enough decoration flexibility to fit the understated visual language of a modern skincare brand.

The Challenge
The Lip Balm sits closer to a skincare treatment than a conventional solid twist-up balm. Barriers describes the formula as soft and nourishing, with ingredients including shea butter, vegetable oils, jojoba esters, squalene, glycerin, and soothing skincare ingredients.
That formula format changes the packaging decision.
A traditional solid lip balm stick is designed around a product that holds its own shape. A softer balm needs a package that can contain the formula, allow controlled evacuation, and bring the product to the lips without requiring users to dip their fingers into a jar.
The application experience also needed to match Barriers’ restrained skincare positioning. Rather than introducing a complex mechanism or decorative component, the pack needed to feel compact, deliberate, and easy to use as part of a daily skincare routine.
The Packaging Solution
UKLB001 approaches the application problem through two simple components: a flexible PE tube and a ceramic applicator.
Gentle pressure on the tube moves the balm toward the applicator, allowing users to apply the formula directly to the lips. The ceramic contact surface provides a smooth, defined application area while eliminating the need for a separate applicator wand.
At 10ml, the tube also matches the finished retail size selected for The Lip Balm. Its Ø18mm profile keeps the package narrow and portable, making it easy to integrate into a handbag, travel kit, or daily skincare routine.
From a branding perspective, the same platform can be developed in custom colors and finished with screen printing, hot stamping, UV printing, or gradient effects. This gives the packaging team room to build a distinctive visual identity around an existing production-ready structure rather than developing a new applicator system from the ground up.
Why UKLB001 Was a Good Fit
Ceramic applicator: Creates a smooth direct-contact application surface suited to soft lip care formulas.
Flexible PE tube: Allows the user to dispense the balm by squeezing the package rather than relying on a twist-up solid stick mechanism.
10ml capacity: Matches the compact format of Barriers The Lip Balm while providing more volume than many conventional solid balm sticks.
Slim Ø18mm profile: Keeps the package portable and appropriate for everyday carry.
Closed dispensing format: Product remains inside the tube until it is dispensed through the applicator rather than being accessed from an open jar.
Decoration flexibility: Custom colors and multiple printing or finishing methods allow the standard UKLB001 structure to be adapted to a skincare brand’s visual system.
The Result
For Barriers, UKLB001 provided a packaging format that fits the product on both a functional and visual level.
The soft balm can be dispensed from a flexible tube and applied directly through the ceramic tip, while the compact 10ml structure keeps the product consistent with the portable nature expected from lip care.
Just as importantly, the package does not need an elaborate dispensing mechanism to create differentiation. In this project, the applicator itself becomes part of the product experience, giving a relatively simple PE tube a more specialized skincare character.
The case shows how applicator selection can materially change the positioning of lip care packaging. Instead of treating the container as a generic tube, the package can be matched to formula texture, application behavior, and the brand experience the product is intended to deliver.
UKPACK develops custom lip balm packaging for balms, conditioners, lip treatments, oils, masks, and other lip care formulas, with multiple tube materials, capacities, and applicator formats available.
Whether your project requires a ceramic tip, soft silicone applicator, roller ball, standard plastic head, or another dispensing direction, we can support packaging selection, color development, decoration, sampling, and production.
