Befe 240g Hair Mask Jar Upgrade to Refillable Packaging
When Befe developed its avocado hair mask, the brand needed a 240g hair mask jar with strong shelf presence, stable production performance, and clear brand recognition.
UKPACK first supported the project with a solution based on our UKC41 cosmetic jar. As the brand grew, Befe returned to us for a second-generation upgrade: a custom refillable hair mask jar mold with a replaceable inner system and a more distinctive packaging appearance.
This case shows how UKPACK helped Befe move from a proven standard jar platform to a customized refillable packaging solution.

Project Snapshot
Brand: Befe
Product: Avocado Hair Mask
Packaging Type: 240g Hair Mask Jar
First Generation: Based on UKPACK SKU UKC41
Second Generation: Custom-developed refillable jar mold
Application: Hair mask, nourishing hair treatment, deep repair formula
Custom Work: Jar structure selection, decoration development, visual upgrade, refillable packaging development
Key Upgrade: From standard platform adaptation to custom refillable packaging system
The Challenge
For modern hair care packaging, a hair mask jar needs to do more than hold formula. It must look substantial, feel reliable in hand, protect thick cream textures, and communicate product value immediately on shelf.
For Befe’s first-generation avocado hair mask, the client needed a practical packaging solution that could move into production efficiently while still allowing strong brand decoration. The jar needed enough visual surface for large typography, bilingual product information, and a fresh green avocado-inspired design language.
After the first version entered the market, the brand wanted a more advanced packaging direction. The goal was not just to change the graphic design, but to upgrade the structure itself. Befe needed a second-generation jar with a more recognizable outer profile and a refillable format that could support future sustainability messaging and product line expansion.
The main challenge was to balance four requirements:
- Maintain the strong brand identity already built through the first-generation jar.
- Improve the perceived value of the packaging through a more customized structure.
- Develop a refillable system suitable for hair mask usage.
- Keep the packaging practical for filling, assembly, shipping, and consumer use.
The UKPACK Solution
First Generation: UKC41-Based Hair Mask Jar

For the first version, UKPACK recommended our UKC41 cosmetic jar platform as the base structure.
This allowed the client to reduce early development risk and move faster through sampling, decoration confirmation, and production planning. The UKC41 platform provided a reliable jar format for a 240g hair mask, with enough decoration area on both the lid and side wall.
The first-generation design focused on a clean white jar body, bold black typography, and fresh green visual accents. The top lid used large brand graphics and avocado-inspired color blocking, while the side decoration helped strengthen shelf visibility from multiple angles.
This version gave Befe a strong first commercial packaging solution without requiring a full custom mold at the initial stage.
Second Generation: Custom Refillable Hair Mask Jar Mold

After the first-generation product established its visual direction, UKPACK helped Befe upgrade to a second-generation packaging system.
For this stage, we developed a custom refillable jar mold for the client. Compared with the first-generation UKC41-based version, the second-generation design moved from platform adaptation to brand-owned structural development.
The new refillable format gives the packaging a more premium and future-ready direction. The replaceable inner component allows the outer jar to be reused, while the brand can supply refill units for repeat purchase scenarios.
The second-generation jar also introduced a more modern visual style, including a softer translucent appearance, a cleaner side-wall layout, and a stronger refillable packaging identity.
Customizations Delivered
1. First-Generation Platform Adaptation
The first stage used UKPACK’s existing UKC41 jar platform to meet the client’s initial launch needs.
This approach helped shorten development time and control tooling investment while still allowing brand-specific decoration. For a growing hair care brand, this was a practical route: launch faster, test the market, and keep the option open for future structural upgrades.
2. Lid and Side-Wall Decoration
The first-generation jar used a high-impact decoration system across the lid and jar wall.
The lid carried the main Befe logo, product name, and avocado hair mask concept. The side wall used large-scale typography and a green horizontal design element to improve recognition from shelf and product photography angles.
For hair mask jars, this type of decoration is important because consumers often see the product from above, from the front, and from side angles in retail or e-commerce visuals.
3. Brand Color Development
Befe’s visual identity relied heavily on fresh green color accents.
UKPACK supported the decoration direction by aligning the packaging appearance with the avocado hair mask concept. The green brush-style graphic on the lid and green side band helped create an energetic, natural, and formula-relevant appearance.
This made the jar more recognizable while keeping the overall structure clean and modern.
4. 3F Services Support
Throughout the project, UKPACK supported Befe with our 3F Services: free design, free 3D renders, and free mockups. These services helped the client compare packaging directions, confirm decoration details, and prepare the second-generation refillable jar for custom mold development.
5. Custom Mold Development for the Second Generation
For the second-generation upgrade, UKPACK moved beyond standard jar selection and developed a custom mold for the client.
This gave Befe greater control over the outer profile, refillable structure, and long-term packaging identity. Instead of relying only on surface decoration, the second-generation packaging could use structure itself as part of brand differentiation.
This is especially valuable for brands that want their packaging to become a recognizable product asset rather than a generic container.
6. Refillable Structure Upgrade
The second-generation jar was designed as a refillable packaging system.
The refillable format allows the consumer to keep the outer jar and replace the inner unit after use. For hair mask products, this can help brands support repeat purchasing and reduce the need to replace the full packaging set each time.
This structure also gives the product a more premium positioning because the outer jar becomes part of the brand experience, not just a disposable container.
Quality Controls
For hair mask jar projects, UKPACK focuses on both packaging appearance and functional reliability.
- Typical quality control points include:
- Jar and lid fitting performance
- Inner component assembly fit for refillable structures
- Closure stability during handling and transportation
- Decoration alignment on curved surfaces
- Print adhesion and rub resistance
- Color consistency across production batches
- Visual inspection for surface defects
- Compatibility discussion based on formula characteristics
Hair mask formulas are usually rich, thick, and oil-containing, so packaging decoration and material selection must be considered carefully during project development. For this reason, UKPACK supports sampling and confirmation before mass production to reduce decoration and compatibility risks.
Outcome
Befe’s packaging development shows how a beauty brand can evolve from a standard platform solution to a more customized refillable packaging system.
The first-generation 240g hair mask jar helped the brand launch with a stable, production-ready structure based on UKPACK’s UKC41 platform. It delivered strong visual impact through bold typography, avocado-inspired color accents, and practical jar functionality.
The second-generation refillable jar took the project further. By developing a custom mold, UKPACK helped Befe create a more distinctive packaging format with better long-term brand ownership and refillable value.
This two-step approach gave the client both speed and scalability: start with a proven jar platform, then upgrade into a custom refillable solution when the brand was ready.
Recognized as a Trusted Supplier by Befe

After supporting Befe through both the first-generation UKC41-based jar and the second-generation custom refillable hair mask jar, UKPACK received a Best Supplier Certificate from Befe. This recognition reflects not only the final packaging result, but also our continued support in design communication, sampling, mold development, production follow-up, and quality control.
Why This Case Matters
This project is a useful example for hair care brands that want to balance launch speed, cost control, and future packaging upgrades.
A brand does not always need to start with a custom mold from day one. For many projects, the smarter route is to begin with a mature UKPACK platform, validate the product in the market, and then invest in custom tooling once the product line gains traction.
For Befe, this approach allowed the packaging to grow with the brand.
Tell us your formula type, target capacity, decoration style, and packaging upgrade plan. UKPACK can recommend an existing jar platform for faster launch, or develop a custom refillable mold when your brand needs a more distinctive long-term packaging solution.
